Our friend Amy Forrette with Farm Bureau’s “Ag in the Classroom” came to visit us yesterday in the 3rd grade room!
Amy shared with students the lifecycle of a soybean and then all participated in an activity with different products that contain soybeans. Some products discussed were Fruity Pebbles, rubber, and donuts!
The students even did an experiment with soybeans and plaster, which they will watch over the next few days to see if the soybeans can break through the plaster to grow!
Thank you, Amy, for your educational and fun visits to CCE!

Our Mavericks make fall even more picturesque!
Today's "Character Parade" took us back to memories of old Maverick traditions that we love to keep alive!
Have a safe and wonderful night tonight, Mavericks!
This afternoon's Fall Festival Surprise and Delight was such a fun way to celebrate great behaviors and wonderful Mavericks! Stations all across our building offered numerous options for students to create and play.
Kudos to our Mavericks for being respectful, ready and responsible! We love to celebrate YOU!
Be sure to check out our parent/guardian letter here for more details. Please never hesitate to let us know if you need help with acquiring any winter-weather related items for your children.

The kindergarten and first grade classes headed to Louie Dehrkoop's pumpkin patch for an outdoor excursion this week! Each came home with a beautiful pumpkin of their own.
Thank you, Louie, for your kindness and allowing our students some fun on your farm!

Mrs. Kimball has an annual tradition of reading the book Harvey Potter's Balloon Farm to CCE's 5th and Kindergarten students.
The children love this beautiful tale and are even more enthused when the story leads them to the Nature Learning Center where they happily find "planted" balloons for them to "pick" and keep.
Stories coming alive at CCE is just one more reason that CCE is the place to be!
Time is ticking to earn our students more books!
Until Sunday night, you can contribute through the invitation from your favorite student or make a school-wide contribution: https://bit.ly/CCEEContributionLink.
Fun fact! Teachers can earn shopping sprees for classroom supplies or books when 60% or more of their students register and send 10+ invites to family and friends.
Thanks for supporting our teachers! #BookBlastAdventures
