Thank you to Royal Lion’s Club President and former CCE science teacher, Mr. Jobst,, for representing the Royal Lion’s Club today during tree distribution and for teaching the children about proper tree care.

Attention CC-E Youth Writers! Our final session will be held in two weeks on Tuesday, April 23, at 3:30pm. Due to conflicts with the Spring Concert on April 9 and Honor Choir Trip on April 16, our group will skip the next two Tuesdays and meet on the 23rd. See you then!!!
We may have had a cloudy view, but we had fun making memories together trying to see today’s solar eclipse!
Nurse Holly recommends that we stay inside Monday for our recesses due to the eclipse's strong rays.
Teachers may take students out & supervise them as they keep special eye wear on to witness the event safely.
Happiest of birthdays and many blessings to our one and only Director of Student Services and friend to all, Mrs. Huntress!
You are so sweet and one of the most hardworking and understanding, loving and genuine souls that we know.
We know how much time, energy, love and care you give to our wonderful school, precious students and super staff. We are grateful for your dedication to our district and the communities that we serve.
Have a fabulous birthday celebrating AMAZING you!!!
Today we celebrate the many gifts of Mrs. Toft! She brings joy to all of us every day with her creativity, humor, kindness, and love! Thanks for being an extraordinary librarian - we are forever grateful!
The students from grades 2-6 enjoyed a short exploratory class as a large group in March and April.
They first interviewed staff at the Spencer YMCA to learn about different types of fitness, and the benefits of them. They then got to try out several different activities at the Y to see which ones they enjoyed.
Later, when back at school, small groups of mixed ages worked collaboratively to research one particular topic (such as CrossFit, swimming, biking, etc.) and then they created a group PowerPoint on the topic. This was a great way for the older students to model some technology skills and assist the younger ones in trying their own hands at creating Google Presentation Slides.
Next, the presentations were shared with younger students at CCE so they could practice some public speaking skills, and help others learn about the health benefits of staying fit. These were enjoyed by all!
Finally, students in grades 2-6 were able to select fitness activities at CCE to try out - pickleball, basketball, walking, or Zumba! Lots of fun and laughter could be heard as our Mavericks got their groove on to stay fit and stress-free!
Next year, we hope to do short exploratories similar to this a few times over the course of the school year. Mixed-age groups allow students to meet new friends, share common interests, and teach others new skills. We are excited to get lots of new and modern furniture for cooperative learning to occur in comfy and exciting settings. We also can't wait to try out our new Science Curriculum and learn more new things in Mrs. Roti's and Mrs. Toft's computer science classes.
Fun and exciting things ahead at CCE!

Happy Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! Thank you to all our CC-E teaching assistants and support staff who work with our students and teachers day in and day out - we appreciate you! ❤️

Here are two egg hunts happening tomorrow in our lovely CCE communities!
Maybe we will see you there!
Keeping our Mavericks safe is our number one priority.
Learning the skills and attending the trainings needed in order to prevent injury and act quickly in emergency situations is a key piece to that puzzle.
Our friends from the Spencer Hospital taught a Stop the Bleed class to our staff last week, giving us a wealth of knowledge that we were grateful to receive.
Thank you to our Spencer Hospital friends for keeping our CCE staff trained and Mavericks safe!
Last week's YMCA field trip was such a fun way to learn about classroom sharing, fitness/health routines and to try out a few fun classes while there!
Thank you to the Spencer Family YMCA for a morning of fun!
Today we reminisce about Friday's CCE Fish Fry & Carnival.
-The chatter in the halls.
-The filled lunchroom.
-The gym bursting with joy and excitement.
We are truly blessed to have the BEST support all around us.
THANK YOU for coming out to support our Mavericks!
