Our CCE students had the excitement of being in the presence of real life firemen today, as the Royal Fire Department came to discuss all things fire safety with all grades.
Royal Fire Chief, Matt Goyette, told them of the importance of having an escape plan for each home and family. He stressed how working smoke detectors and doors closed at bedtime can be the difference between life and death.
Goyette stated "Batteries are cheap. You guys are priceless."
After his presentation, students were led out to view one of Royal Fire Department's fire trucks, where fireman Buddy Yungbluth described the ins and outs of what the truck held and did.
Thank you to the Royal Fire Department for teaching our Mavericks the importance of fire safety!
