Wednesday evening’s community grill-out game was a joyous and wonderful way to usher in the new Maverick school year!
You came out and showed your support and for that we are SO grateful!
BIG shoutout to our amazing Clay County Sheriff’s Department deputies Chris Raveling, Eric Ring, and Ryan Lefever who surprised the kiddos by being on their team for the big game! The children were so excited to have you on their team and look up to you immensely. Taking time out of your busy schedules to bring joy to their day really meant the world to them and all of us!
Also a thank you to Royal’s mayor Josh Toft for grilling the delicious hotdogs in the intense heat and then playing alongside the deputies on the student’s “red” team! Your “royal” presence and help made our event a breeze and big success!
Even though the teachers (aka the “white team”) put up a valiant effort with their wacky hitting tools and rearing-to-go back-to-school energy, the loss was inevitable against the mighty “Red team” who took home the victory.
It is safe to say that supper was delicious, entertainment was top notch, and there was no better way to ring in a new Maverick school year with our students, staff, friends, family and our cherished community by our side!
Here’s to a wonderful, safe, educational and FUN 2023-2024 school year!
HERE WE GO MAVERICKS! HERE WE GO!
